Today's first story comes as a result of a weekly mailbag feature I did last week about the community's curiosity regarding a YouTube prankster who duct-taped himself to a telephone pole near the Red Lobster on U.S. 40.

I mentioned in that feature that the YouTuber was likely not going to face charges after the prosecutor decided not to pursue them, but it's the alleged response from the prosecutor to a Facebook user that has now drawn attention.

When Christopher Shawn Durham asked Mike Shipman, Wayne County prosecutor, about his decision, Shipman allegedly responded by calling Durham a "Cheeto eater" and telling him to "shut the hell up."

I reached out to multiple sources for comment, and the result was this story.

But there is light at the end of the tunnel, as Hazelbaker said schools across the county and even the Wayne County Emergency Management has provided RCS staff with several MiFi hot spots, allowing for staff to have internet access Tuesday morning.
