Reminder: Crescent City DMV Has New Hours
The Department of Motor Vehicles Crescent City Office has implemented modified public hours, effective immediately. The DMV office located at 1475 Parkway Drive remains open to the public Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. On week days when the office is closed to the public, DMV team members process transactions started online that require additional processing or with customers’ transactions started using the DMV’s Virtual Office. The DMV no longer processes simple transactions that may be easily completed online. DMV office hours are 8am-5pm. Wednesdays, the office opens at 9am. To sign up for paperless vehicle registration and driver’s license renewal notices, customers must create a secure online account at dmv.ca.gov and then opt in.
Local firefighter loses home to Park Fire
One of the many symbols of the town used to be the sign next to the community announcement board. The sign used to say, “Welcome to Cohasset.” Now it’s split in half and badly burned from the fire, much like the rest of the town - devastated - with burned homes, cars, falling trees, plumes of smoke and almes still burning.

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Four Rottweiler puppies and their mother were rescued after their owner’s truck broke down when evacuating due to the Park Fire. The truck broke down above Cohasset, near Campbellville, and a member of the Butte County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue — Trevor Skaggs — flew and then ran to the truck because it was not immediately accessible due to the fire.
