A new fire ignited shortly after 5 p.m. along Highway 299, just west of Willow Creek. First reports indicate that vegetation on the right-hand side of the roadway was ablaze. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Traffic Incident Information Page, the fire was located at mile marker 3400 on Highway 299 Wes. The fire was reported by multiple callers who said it was burning alongside the road.
