In Jupiter , you can almost hear the sizzle at Ruth's Chris Steak House already.
The iconic upscale steak house founded in New Orleans and now headquartered in Orlando, Florida, will open a new restaurant at Harbourside Place on June 3.
The Jupiter location will feature a main dining room, expansive bar area, covered outdoor seating and even space for private events.
General manager Jeff Foster said the design team did a wonderful job creating the perfect atmosphere for the location. "It has a nice feel to it, it portrays Jupiter from the moment you walk in the door," he said.
Ruth's Chris Steak House no stranger to Palm Beach County
Foster, who had been the general manager at the West Palm Beach (651 Okeechobee Blvd.) location for the past seven years before moving up to Jupiter, said the new location is approximately 8,400 square feet in size and will feature their tried and true classic menu.
He said that Ruth's Chris had been looking to expand into the Jupiter area for a while. "This has kind of been in the works for a few years now," he said noting that its North Palm Beach location closed during the pandemic. Ruth's Chris also has a restaurant in Boca Raton's Mizner Park.

Leading the kitchen will be chef Kendris Candelario. Getting his start with Ruth's Chris at their Altamonte Springs location, Candelario has been with the company for 25 years and has worked with Foster for seven.
If you're unfamiliar with Ruth's Chris and wondering about the "'sizzle,'" it's very real.
The plate is hot for a reason at Ruth's Chris Steak House
Featuring USDA prime steaks, those cuts, including the popular center-cut filet, bone-in New York strip and the 40-ounce, well-marbled tomahawk ribeye, are all cooked using their "patented broiling method."
Ruth's Chris uses broilers that cook at an incredible 1,800 degrees — definitely creating some sizzle. More importantly, however, the method perfectly sears the outside of the steaks while keeping them moist and juicy inside.
Once cooked to the customer's desired temperature, those steaks are kept piping hot by being served on a 500-degree plate. Foster said that the guests can "hear them coming" as those sizzling steaks are brought to the tables.
Perhaps this is a good time to heed the warning that "these plates are very hot."
In addition to great steaks and seafood, Ruth's Chris gets high marks for its appetizers, including sizzling crab cakes, mushrooms stuffed with crabmeat, and fried calamari.
Foster said occasionally customers come in and see Ruth's picture and ask "Is that Ruth Chris?" thinking that Chris was her last name. He said it is the perfect opportunity to explain how this iconic steakhouse got its name.
How did Ruth's Chris Steak House get its name?
In 1965, founder Ruth Fertel risked it all and mortgaged her home to buy a small steak house called Chris Steak House in New Orleans. She taught herself the restaurant business, endured many challenges and provided great hospitality.
When a fire destroyed Chris Steak House in 1976, Ruth was forced to relocate her business, but the Chris Steak House name wasn’t allowed to come along. Short on time, Ruth improvised, adding her own name to the sign. That made it “Ruth’s Chris Steak House” and the legendary name was born.
The staff has "been training for about four weeks at the West Palm Beach location to get their feet wet with the Ruth's Chris brand" and to make sure everything is running up to Ruth's standards when they open in Jupiter, Foster said.
"We can't wait to welcome the people of Jupiter, and beyond, to come and join us."
