    Six new retailers open in Delray Beach this summer: Here's what to know

    DELRAY BEACH — Downtown Delray Beach continues to grow with seven new retailers this summer alone.

    The Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) announced the opening, expansion and relocation of 20 new restaurants and retailers in July.

    “We are excited for the continued growth of Downtown Delray Beach,” Laura Simon, executive director of the Delray Beach DDA, said. “Not only are we continuing to bring in new retailers, businesses and restaurants to our business district, but we are successfully and quickly filling vacancies as existing businesses choose to leave or move locations at the end of their leases. These are all signs of a healthy downtown.”

    Here’s what’s new this summer in Delray Beach:

    Newly opened retailers

    Chip City : The New York City-based gourmet cookie shop offers more than 40 varieties of fresh-baked delights. Located at 302 E. Atlantic Ave., the popular bakery opened May 17, becoming the third in the state. Its other two Florida locations are in Miami and Miami Beach.

    Candle Land : Started as a pop-up in different locations in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, Candle Land offers visitors the chance to create their own customized candles. Its Delray Beach location, at 415 E. Atlantic Ave., opened June 9. It marks the brand’s third Florida store with its first two in Fort Lauderdale and Coral Gables.

    Delray Design Studio : The interior designer, by Zelman Style Interiors, offers innovative technology to help clients map out their designs before any constructions happens. Its downtown studio opened June 13 at 111 S.E. First Ave.

    Retailers relocating in Delray Beach

    Tootsies and Kokonuts: Delray Beach shoe retailer Tootsies will combine with Kokonuts, a clothing and swimwear boutique opened in the city in 2008, and move to the current location of Global Pursuit, a clothing store at 400 E. Atlantic Ave.

    House of Perna : A colorful and maximalist brand focusing on consciously-made products, House of Perna will relocate from the Arts Warehouse, at 313 N.E. Third St., to Shoppes at the Ray, on N.E. Second Ave. It will mark fashion designer Amanda Perna’s second downtown location in the city — Perna also co-owns A Little Wyld Boutique, the colorfully-curated kids- and womenswear line at 157 N.E. Second Ave.

    Tern Studio : Previously known as The Shops at the Seagate, offering accessories and apparel, Tern Studio will open in Pineapple Grove, at 200 N.E. second Ave.

    DELRAY RESTAURANTS: Lefkes Estiatorio, with locations in Athens, Santorini and New Jersey, is now open

    Retailers under new ownership in Delray Beach

    Surf District: The downtown surf shop, located in Ocean City Lumber Co., at 220 N.E. First St., is under new ownership.
