    Tyreek Hill detained: What we know about Miami Dolphins star's run-in with police

    Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was detained by law enforcement officers outside of Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday morning.

    Images and videos of Hill in handcuffs made rounds on social media and according to a statement released by the Dolphins , several of his teammates were also involved in the incident.

    Hill went on to play in the season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, helping his team come away with a 20-17 victory.

    Did Tyreek Hill get arrested?

    No, the key word is detained. Hill did receive a citation for a traffic violation which reportedly led to the verbal altercation that led to him being detained.

    Hill did play on Sunday and delivered an 80-yard touchdown reception that swung momentum for the Dolphins . His final stat line was seven catches for 130 yards and one touchdown.

    What are police saying?

    The Miami-Dade Police account on X released two statements from Director Stephanie V. Daniels on Sunday. The police department has launched an internal investigation and one of the officers involved has been "placed on "placed on administrative duties" in the interim.

    However, the police have declined to release the body cam footage to the public.
