MIAMI GARDENS ― Tyler "Snoop" Huntley is preparing as though he'll start for the Miami Dolphins in their "Monday Night Football" clash with the Tennessee Titans .

"It's football," Huntley said with a big smile on Thursday. "At the end of the day, I've been playing football since I was yay high.”

Though nothing has been announced, Huntley seems a pretty good bet to start.

Tua Tagovailoa is out following a concussion. Skylar Thompson was limited in practice due to a ribs injury and appeared to be in some discomfort. Tim Boyle did not lead a touchdown drive in relief at Seattle.

"Get the plan, watch the film," said Snoop, a native of Dania Beach.

Huntley is an outstanding athlete. But he also has a solid career completion percentage of 64.6 percent.

Does Huntley mind being labeled as a "running" quarterback?

"You can say I run when I need to," Huntley said. "That's when I feel like I'm the best. Being able to run when everything breaks down. That's what puts the defense in conflict."

Huntley adds a unique dimension that coach Mike McDaniel could creatively tap into.

In a recent online poll , 90 percent of fans said they want to see Huntley start in front of his hometown crowd.

"It would mean everything in the world," Huntley said. "But you know, I'm just here to help the team win."

How many tickets are friends and family demanding?

"Nah, I ain't taking that many tickets," Huntley said. "They gotta' go buy their own. You understand? I'm still moving into my place, so, yeah, that's on them if they wanna' come."

Huntley has been working diligently to absorb Miami's play book, including Wednesday's off day.

"I mean it's like riding a bike, you know?" Huntley said. "First time you're a little iffy, you know. You don't know how to pedal. Then you just start putting it all together. Pedal and then you're going in a straight line, you know. Then after a while you're going to start standing up."

Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill spent time with Huntley at a recent Pro Bowl.

"This dude can make every throw," Hill said this week. "This dude is special with his legs. He’s a special talent."

Huntley, 26, is 3-6 in starts for the Ravens over the past three seasons.

He's only been in Miami for 10 days.

"I just hope I continue to build their confidence," Snoop said of his new teammates. "I plan to."

Huntley appreciates that he is surrounded by dynamic weapons like Hill.

"Yeah man, they're some fast guys," Huntley said. "So I've got to catch up to them."
