MIAMI GARDENS — Tyler "Snoop" Huntley will make his debut for the Miami Dolphins , starting at quarterback on "Monday Night Football" against the Tennessee Titans .

"We've been very high on Snoop," Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Saturday, adding: "He's done an impressive job of assimilating into the locker room and understanding our language as his own. The team is excited for him."

Huntley , 26, is a native of Dania Beach and was a standout at Hallandale High School.

Huntley has started nine games for the Ravens, posting a 3-6 record.

But Huntley does have a decent completion percentage of 64.6 and passer rating of 79.0

"Child’s dream," Huntley said last week. "Being able to play for your home team, man, that’s just something everybody doesn’t get to come across. So it would mean everything in the world."

Huntley can make off-schedule plays because of his speed and elusiveness.

"I know everybody knows that he can run," McDaniel said. "I think everybody knows that he can pass. He does a good job at both."

Dolphins receiver Jaylen Waddle actually trained with Huntley this offseason.

    "He’s a playmaker,” Waddle said.

On Saturday, Dolphins center Aaron Brewer said Huntley has developed in Miami's offense quickly.

"He's an athlete, man," Brewer said. "You know, everyone who's been saying when he was in Baltimore, him and Lamar (Jackson) are identical, when you see them, how they play, their style. He's just a great dude."

Miami receiver Braxton Berrios says Huntley is personable and fully invested.

"Obviously he has a great arm," Berrios said. "He's played a lot of football and he can do a lot of things with his feet. So, just looking forward to watching him go out and do his thing."

The Titans are 0-3. And Miami is 1-2.

But the oddsmakers give Miami a chance here, with DraftKings posting a Saturday line of Dolphins favored by 1.5 points.

"I think Snoop's done a very good job with understanding what we emphasize and being able to cater his game to that," McDaniel said. "I expect 11 people operating together. He's like the halfback, the tight end, and the X or Z receiver. You have to expect him to do his job as his teammates are depending on him."
