While most Swifties don't mind dancing in a storm in their best dress, a hurricane is a whole other story.

Taylor Swift is a little more than two weeks away from kicking off the second U.S. leg of Swift's super-successful "Eras Tour" in Miami.

But after seeing Hurricane Helene slam into the region on Sept. 27, some Floridian fans are worried about a major storm affecting their concerts. Helene has caused extensive damage totaling at least in the tens of billions of dollars and left millions with power, according to experts.

Could the Eras Tour see trouble, trouble, trouble with upcoming hurricanes ? Here's what to know.

When and where are the Miami 'Eras Tour' dates?

Taylor Swift will perform near Miami, Florida, on Thursday, Oct. 18, through Saturday, Oct. 20, 2024, at the Hard Rock Stadium on 347 Don Shula Drive in Miami Gardens.

    When is hurricane season?

The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 through Nov. 30. Tropical activity picks up between mid-August and mid-October, with the peak of the season occurring Sept. 10.

Swift's Miami dates fall within final 7 weeks of Hurricane Season. Could concerts be impacted?

    It's definitely possible .

"October is historically an active month, particularly in the Caribbean Sea, Gulf of Mexico and off the U.S. Southeast coast," Brian McNoldy, a hurricane research scientist at the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School, said to USA TODAY.

Using the storm names that have been retired since 1953 as a proxy for landfalling storms that had great impact, September has the most retired names, with 43, McNoldy said. August and October are essentially tied at 21 and 20, and only seven storm names have been retired from November storms.

However, it's also worth noting that October and November together have more retired storm names than June, July and August combined, he said.  "So we must absolutely still be on alert for tropical cyclone threats in the remainder of hurricane season."

Currently the National Hurricane Center is tracking three systems in the Atlantic basin , including Hurricane Kirk which could threaten Florida or the Gulf Coast as soon as next week, according to the latest advisory from Oct. 2.

What will the weather look like for 'Eras Tour' dates in Miami?

When planning your outfit for the concert, make sure to take the weather into account.

Daytime temperatures in October in Miami typically hit the mid-80s . But according to The Farmers' Almanac's forecast for fall in Florida this year, October will be just a few degrees cooler than usual throughout the whole state, with the predicted average temperature at 76 degrees.

The Weather Channel also shared that while most of the country will experience above-average temperatures this month, the only exceptions will be in the Pacific Northwest and South Florida.

How active has the current hurricane season been?

    Very active, according to experts.

USA Todays notes the year started with predictions of a hyperactive season , quickly followed by the explosive and record-breaking landfall of Beryl in early July . Then came an odd mismatch in Pacific and Atlantic activity a later mid-season lull .

After Hurricane Helene's deadly and devastating rampage across the Southeast last week, experts claim that any hope of a "quiet hurricane season for the U.S. has been obliterated."

Has Taylor Swift ever canceled a concert?

In her 18-year career as a performer, Swift has canceled a few concerts and performances :

    • Vienna "Eras Tour" shows : Most recently, she canceled three shows in Austria due to threats of terrorism.
    • Buenos Aires : Swift pushed back her Oct. 10 show to Oct. 12 after heavy rain fell on the Argentinian capital.
    • Lover Fest : Canceled her 2020 concerts due to COVID-19 pandemic.
    • Melbourne Cup horse racing event : In 2019, she canceled a concert at the Melbourne Cup horse racing event, citing that “changes to her Asian performing schedule have made it logistically impossible” for her to be at the cup.
    • Bangkok, Thailand: During Red Tour, she canceled a sold-out concert after Bangkok came under military rule after a coup d'etat.
    • Speak Now Tour: She cancelled four shows in Louisville, Ky., Atlanta, Ga., and Charlotte, N.C., because of bronchitis. She rescheduled the July shows for October and November.

If a hurricane does mess with Miami tour dates, could I get my money back? What Ticketmaster says

Ticketmaster, which handled the US ticket sale of the tour, says it can only offer refunds or exchanges if an event has been canceled or rescheduled.

They detail that if an event is canceled, no action is required to obtain a refund. It will be processed to the original method of payment used at time of purchase as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer.

Different rules apply to transfer and resold tickets (and some others). They ask those to refer to your email notification for your available options.

As for other websites, such as StubHub or SeatGeek, they also state that an event has to be canceled for them to offer a refund.

Will Taylor Swift donate to hurricane-stricken areas? She has donated in the past

During her tour stops, Swift has been known to donate hundreds of thousands to local food banks. But has she ever donated to storm relief? According to Billboard Magazine , here is when she has:

    • Aug. 2016: She donated $1 million to Louisiana flood relief after torrential rains caused massive flooding in the state, killing at least 11 people and damaging at least 40,000 homes.
    • Sept. 2017: Swift donated to the Houston Food Bank following Hurricane Harvey.
    • March 2020: Made a $1 million donation to help those impacted by the tornadoes that destroyed homes and killed at least 24 people in Tennessee. “Nashville is my home and the fact that so many people have lost their homes and so much more in Middle Tennessee is devastating to me,” she wrote in an Instagram Story . “I’ve made a donation to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund.”
    • Dec. 2023: Made a $1 million donation to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee after tornadoes left at least six people dead and dozens hurt with hundreds of buildings damaged.
