The Miami Dolphins try to get their season back on track Sunday when they play the New England Patriots in Foxborough, Mass.

The Dolphins have dropped 3 straight since defeating the winless Jacksonville Jaguars in the season-opener. They are starting their third quarterback and lost another starter when edge rusher Jaelan Phillips suffered a partial ACL tear in his right knee against the Tennessee Titans and was placed on Injured Reserve.

So all eyes will be on Tyler Huntley as he starts his second game under center, along with rookie edge rusher Chop Robinson to see if he can pick up the slack with Phillips gone.

Of course, the Patriots have been just as awful as the Dolphins. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett - a former Dolphin as well as Dwyer High graduate - is promising a "fresh start" while also keeping an eye on his eventual replacement, rookie Drake Maye.

    Dolphins vs Patriots score updates

    Dolphins defeat Patriots

Miami has defeated New England 15-10 in Foxboro as the Patriots ran out of time on a desperation final drive.

The Dolphins improved to 2-3 while the Patriots fall to 1-4.

Dolphins get stop in red zone

Miami forced a turnover on downs inside its own red zone to preserve a 15-10 lead over the Patriots late in the fourth quarter.

The Patriots appeared to score the go-ahead touchdown on a Jacoby Brissett touchdown pass but the play was ruled incomete as the receiver's heel landed out of bounds.

Alec Ingold gives Dolphins late lead

Miami has a lead late in the fourth quarter as Alec Ingold scored on a 3-yard carry. Julian Hill caught a pass from Tyler Huntley to convert the 2-point try.

Miami leads 15-10 with less than 5 minutes to play.

Dolphins secondary standout Jevon Holland has left the game and entered the locker room after sustaining an injury.

Holland is questionable to return with a hand injury according to the Dolphins.

    Sanders field goal narrows deficit

Miami trails New England 10-6 with 7:37 left in the third quarter.

New England holds a 7-3 lead over the Dolphins at halftime.

Tyler Huntley has completed 12 of 22 passes for 126 yards and an interception. He has been sacked twice.

Dolphins special teams continue to struggle

It has been a disaster for the Miami special teams in New England.

After a false start backed the Dolphins from a 46-yard field goal attempt into a 51-yard attempt, Dolphins long snapper Blake Ferguson rolled the snap back to the holder and Jason Sanders was tackled after picking up the ball.

Miami has now missed a field goal, had a punt blocked and failed attempt a 51-yard field goal due to a bad snap.

    De'Von Achane out with concussion

The Dolphins have suffered another key injury as running back De'Von Achane will not return due to a concussion sustained in the final minutes of the first quarter.

Raheem Mostert and Jaylen Wright are active in the Dolphins' backfield to replace the injured Achane.

    Tyler Huntley interception

Miami has an early lead in Foxboro as Jason Sanders converts a 54-yard field goal try.

    Dolphins vs Patriots predictions

Joe Schad, Palm Beach Post : Dolphins 24, Patriots 20

"Miami isn’t very good right now. But New England is awful. And as much as Miami has been hurt by injury, the Patriots are utterly decimated. We see Miami’s defense forcing multiple turnovers. And we see the Dolphins finally gaining some run-game traction."

Hal Habib, Palm Beach Post : Dolphins 12, Patriots 9

"I was prepared to not pick the Dolphins again until they finally win a game, thereby proving me wrong. But the Patriots are so poor that even minus their quarterback, the Dolphins ought to win this epic struggle."

Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News : Dolphins 24, Patriots 13

"The Dolphins should be using Tyler Huntley again to lead a run-heavy attack from quarterback. He can also revive the success of throwing downfield to Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle against a Patriots' defense that can give up plenty of big pass plays. De'Von Achane also gets into the fun with a few long runs."

Tyler Dragon, USA TODAY : Patriots 18, Dolphins 16

"We are seeing how important Tagovailoa is for the Dolphins. The Dolphins are winless since he was concussed in Week 2. Miami’s Week 4 loss to Tennessee was bad. This should be a low-scoring game, but I’m not confident in Miami’s offense, especially on the road."

Linebacker Jaelan Phillips will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

The Patriots have several players listed as questionable: receivers KJ Osborn (shoulder) and Kendrick Bourne (knee), safeties Jabrill Peppers (shoulder) and Kyle Dugger (ankle), linebacker Anfernee Jennings (shoulder) and cornerback Jonathan Jones (shoulder), among others.
