BOCA RATON — Moments after fleeing the scene of a triple shooting at a Boca Raton beachside hotel last month, De'Vante Moss returned to his home in Boynton Beach , packed a suitcase and told his fiancée he was leaving for a business trip to Jacksonville, according to a police arrest report recently made public.

Nearly 12 hours later, Georgia State Police pulled over Moss' silver Jaguar sedan just south of Macon and took him into custody. Now he is back in Palm Beach County, returned to its main jail on Friday, Oct. 4, to face charges in the Sept. 20 murders of Christopher Liszak, 49, and Chandler Dill, 32, and the attempted murder of Tuan Duy Hoang Ho, 41.

Boca Raton police said Moss shot Liszak and Dill at close range and fired multiple shots at Ho during a confrontation in the parking lot of the 365 Ocean extended-stay hotel on North Ocean Boulevard north of East Palmetto Park Road.

During a hearing on Oct. 5 at the jail, Circuit Judge G. Joseph Curley assigned Moss a public defender and ordered that he be held without bail. As a policy, the county Public Defender's Office does not comment on open cases.

Investigators said Dill had rented a room at the hotel and was there with Moss prior to the fatal altercation. Moss and Dill got into a dispute, prompting Moss to leave the room and take Dill's purse, Boca Raton Police Chief Michelle Miuccio said at a news conference days after the attack.

Dill reportedly chased Moss through the parking lot and attempted to retrieve her purse as Moss climbed into the driver seat of the Jaguar. Ho observed the altercation and went over to help Dill, at one point entering the passenger side and punching Moss, police said.

As Dill continued to struggle with Moss, he reportedly got out of the driver's seat and retrieved an item from a rear passenger seat.

Ho ran to a nearby truck and retrieved what appeared to be a gun, police said. The arrest report does not indicate whether he ever displayed a weapon.

Woman had extended her stay at Boca Raton hotel through day of shooting

As Ho continued to try to help Dill, Liszak came out of a hotel room and also attempted to intervene, according to the arrest report. Ho approached the front passenger door but quickly moved away to take cover on the rear passenger side after observing Moss.

Moss then raised a dark-colored pistol and began shooting at Ho, the arrest report said. He reportedly then aimed the weapon at Dill and Liszak and shot them at close range. He then followed Ho as Ho attempted to crawl back to the hotel.

As Ho turned and raised his empty hands, Moss stood over him and fired again, police said. Moss then grabbed a red cellphone near Ho's feet, ran back to the Jaguar and fled in the vehicle. Medics drove Ho to Delray Medical Center with gunshot wounds to his right front thigh, buttocks and scrotum, Moss' arrest report said.

A property manager told investigators that Dill and Liszak, both of Oakland Park in Broward County, had rented neighboring apartments on separate dates. A place of residence wasn't immediately available for Ho.

Dill was supposed to check out on the day in question, but extended her stay for one more day. A witness identified Moss from a photo lineup, the report said. Investigators went to Moss' home in Boynton Beach and spoke to a woman who identified herself as his fiancée.

The woman said she last saw Moss packing for what she believed to be a business trip to Jacksonville, the report said.
