Suddenly, Miami Dolphins' schedule looks fairly easy. Here's why | Schad

    So, you're saying there's a chance?

    Well, yeah!

The Miami Dolphins ' remaining schedule is, well, very, very manageable according to the current power rankings of said teams remaining on schedule.

No, it's not ideal to have a bye week in Week 6, as the Dolphins do.

But what lies ahead does not seem quite as daunting as it once did.

According to research by X user " NFL Nerd ," the Dolphins have the third-easiest schedule remaining as ranked using ESPN's current NFL Power Poll .

"NFL Nerd" could have used the Joe Schad Power Poll , but we're remiss.

And the Daily Dolphin is not about to do all that math.

So, thank you, "NFL Nerd" the NFL's self-proclaimed "Schedule Aficionado."

As a side note, ESPN has the Dolphins as the NFL's 23rd-best team.

But we'll overlook that little bit of "hate" for the moment.

    Now, onto the good news.

Miami Dolphins news: Nine of 12 opponents have losing record

According to the research, the teams with the worst cumulative remaining opponents (easiest remaining schedule) are:

    1. Buffalo
    2. Cincinnati
    3. Miami
    4. Philadelphia
    5. Los Angeles Chargers

    So, yeah, we're saying there's a chance.

According to the research, the teams with the best cumulative remaining opponents (toughest remaining schedule) are:

    1. Chicago
    2. San Francisco
    3. Detroit
    4. Dallas
    5. Green Bay

In looking at the Dolphins' remaining opponents, here are a few things we notice:

    • Of the 12 remaining opponents, (Colts, Cardinals, Bills, Rams, Raiders, Patriots, Packers, Jets, Texans, 49ers, Browns, Jets), nine currently have a losing record.
    • Miami has five remaining home games. Among those opponents, four currently have a losing record.
    • Miami has seven remaining road games. Among those opponents, five currently have a losing record.
    • The Dolphins' toughest remaining games are: at Buffalo, at Green Bay (Thanksgiving night), at Houston.

The Dolphins are 2-3. Let's say things were to go quite well, and they were to finish the season the season 8-4, producing a record of 10-7.

Miami Dolphins schedule: 10-7 likely would mean playoffs

In 2023, all three teams with 10 wins made the playoffs.

In 2022, both teams with 10 wins made the playoffs.

In 2021, all four teams with 10 wins made the playoffs.

In 2020, one of two teams with 10 wins made the playoffs.

OK, so that last team was the Miami Dolphins.

But, you know, don't focus too much on that part.

Let's focus instead on this interesting research from the "NFL Nerd."
