    Palm Beach Society: Fashionable luncheon celebrates end of symphony's 50th season

    A fashion show of designs by Milly Park highlighted a luncheon honoring the Palm Beach Symphony.

    The event took place April 25 at Club Colette, and marked the end of the symphony's 50th anniversary season.

    The celebration began on the the covered patio with a mimosa-and-champagne reception, then moved to the main dining room ― filled with more flowers than a royal wedding ― for a welcome from symphony CEO David McClymont, lunch and piano music by Wayne Hosford.

    After lunch, guests turned their attention to the floral-bordered runway for a fashion show featuring Milly Park's original designs, including many Mommy-and-Me ensembles modeled by Milly's 9-year-old twins, Mia and Camila.

    The Palm Beach-centric fashions ― and the designer ― received a standing ovation at show's end. Palm Beach Symphony board president James Borynack and Adolfo Zaralegui of Findlay Galleries presented a bouquet to the the designer, along with words of appreciation.

    "The Palm Beach Symphony is pleased to celebrate the tremendous artistic talent of Milly Park,” said Borynack. “Our cherished supporters, Milly and her husbandPatrick, uphold the highest of ideals and appreciation for the arts, and we are excited to share in common with them the opportunity to make the world a more beautiful place.”

    The afternoon concluded with the club's signature coconut cake dessert.

    More than 75 people attended, including including the symphony's music director, Gerard Schwarz and wife Jody, Arthur and Mara Benjamin, Arlette Gordon, Stanton Collemer. Dr. Ben and Candy Carson, Donald and Dawn Levy, Karen Swanson, Lee Lipton, Tara Vecellio, Lauren Markow and Lina Surowitz.
