The Israeli prime minister arrived in the United States on Monday, spoke to Congress on Wednesday, and was expected to meet with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday. </p><p> "Looking forward to seeing Bibi Netanyahu on Friday, and even more forward to achieving Peace in the Middle East!" Trump wrote. </p><nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate><p> Southern Boulevard will close as law-enforcement agencies escort Netanyahu from Palm Beach International to Mar-a-Lago, reopening for about two or three hours as Trump and Netanyahu meet before closing again for officers to escort Netanyahu back to the airport, Bradshaw said. </p><p> “We’re going to make sure that it’s a good event to have him here,” he said. </p><p> People will be allowed to gather on both sides of Southern Boulevard between the airport and Trump’s estate, Bradshaw said, but pedestrians will not be allowed on the small bridge that connects the Southern Boulevard Bridge to Palm Beach on the causeway across the Intracoastal. </p><p> “I know some of the protesters like to shut roads down and make a statement,” he said. “That’s a no-no.” </p><nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate><p> Thousands of protesters lined up outside the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday to demonstrate against Netanyahu. Israel and the Hamas militant group have been fighting since Oct. 7, when Hamas attacked Israel, killing more than 1,200 people. In the subsequent war, at least 39,000 people have been killed in Gaza, which has caused worldwide outrage. </p><p> Bradshaw said he has ordered two state Department of Corrections buses to be available during Netanyahu’s visit, and if people go into the road during Netanyahu’s arrival and departure: “That will be the end of your day.” </p><p> The sheriff's office will have boats in the waters around Mar-a-Lago to provide additional protection, Bradshaw said. </p><p> The Secret Service has increased security around Mar-a-Lago following an assassination attempt on Trump during his July 13 campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump's ear was injured, and three of his supporters were shot, one of whom, Corey Comperatore, was killed. </p><nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate><p> Among those measures: The abrupt closure last week of South Ocean Boulevard next to Mar-a-Lago, from the Southern Boulevard traffic circle north to the intersection with South County Road. The closure will be in effect around-the-clock through at least the Nov. 5 general election, officials said. <a href=https://www.palmbeachdailynews.com/story/news/2024/07/23/palm-beach-wants-secret-service-to-explain-mar-a-lago-road-closure/74512003007/ rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow" target=_blank> The town is seeking some relief </a> in the form of reopening the road when no Secret Service protectees are at Mar-a-Lago. </p><p> The Secret Service director, Kimberly Cheatle, resigned Tuesday following contentious hearings in Congress and calls for her to step down issued by lawmakers. Named as acting Secret Service director was Ronald L. Rowe Jr., a former West Palm Beach police officer whom Bradshaw said Thursday is "the policeman's policeman." </p><p> Bradshaw was West Palm Beach Police chief when Rowe worked for the department, and the sheriff recalled when Rowe faced the decision to join the Secret Service or remain in West Palm. Bradshaw told him it was "a heck of an opportunity." </p><nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate><p> "Solid guy, great family man, good ethics," Bradshaw said of Rowe.
