For the man who has everything: A $45 million stegosaurus

Palm Beach land baron Ken Griffin, who in 2021 paid $43.2 million at auction for a first-edition copy of the U.S. Constitution ― and put a cherry on the deal by snatching it from the Red Bull-stained fingers of those snot-nosed GameStop brats ― has been shopping again.

The hedge fund CEO is the buyer of a late Jurassic-era stegosaurus skeleton that sold for $44.6 million at Sotheby’s last week.

Did anybody else read this and think "How the heck did he get that thing home?" Or is it just us?

The skeleton has a name ― Apex ― and was excavated in Colorado.

“Apex was born in America and is going to stay in America!” Griffin was quoted as saying. Technically, there was no such place as "America" in the Mesozoic era, but what's an epoch or two when you're on the Forbes list?

In a related development, when Griffin's housekeeper learned of the purchase, she quit in a huff.

OK, that's not even the tiniest bit true.
