For Flagler County and Florida registered voters seeking information: The Presidential Preference Primary Election is a distinctive feature of the primary election process, taking place exclusively during Presidential election cycles, which occur every four years. It serves as the initial step in Florida for voters to engage in the selection of the United States President.
Various states conduct their own versions of the Presidential Preference Primary Election, while some opt for caucuses, and a few employ a combination of both methods. These primaries and caucuses transpire in each state across the United States, spanning the period from January to June in a Presidential election year.
These events are known as " indirect elections," signifying that the outcomes in each state play a vital role in determining the number of delegates allocated to each political party's national convention from that state. These delegates, representing each political party, will ultimately decide on their Presidential nominee. The official nomination of the candidates for United States President by each party will be announced at their respective conventions, scheduled for the summer of 2024.
The nominees selected by the political parties will appear on the General Election ballot in every state across the United States. The General Election for the U.S. President is slated for November 5, 2024. In Flagler County, this election will encompass a multitude of other offices, including Federal, state, multi-county, judicial, county, and local positions. It's essential to ensure your voice is heard, as a single vote can wield significant influence. Be prepared for the 2024 election.
