A Villager was tasered after allegedly attacking a manager and a bartender at a bar in The Villages. Kevin Patrick Shaughnessy, 52, who lives at 294 Arbella Loop, had become “unruly” at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the City Fire location at Lake Sumter Landing, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

AutoZone manager accused of using customer warranties to steal hundreds of dollars
An AutoZone manager in Marion County was arrested after he allegedly accessed customer accounts to commit warranty fraud, stealing more than $400. On Friday, July 26, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to the AutoZone located at 15940 E Highway 40 in Silver Springs in reference to a fraud incident. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with a regional manager who advised that several fraudulent transactions had been recently discovered, according to the arrest report.
Primark to Open at The Florida Mall
Primark (Dublin) announced Monday that a new location will open at The Florida Mall in Orlando, Fla. at the end of August. This location will be the retailer’s 26th in the U.S. as it continues to expand its footprint after opening stores across the country earlier this year. Primark said it hopes to reach 60 U.S. stores, and 530 globally, by 2026. Primark currently operates more than 440 stores globally.
