As part of its major dining expansion, Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) is preparing to welcome local business Las Casuelas. The family-owned Mexican eatery with a few outposts around the desert will soon have a space at the 3400 E Tahquitz Canyon Way property.

The airport’s website states that construction of the new restaurant, located in the courtyard, began in fall 2023 and is expected to be completed this summer. This move is part of PSP’s broader initiative to double its restaurant capacity and enhance the travel experience for passengers.

PSP’s new concessions program is also adding a few other local favorites: Trio, El Mirasol, Coachella Valley Coffee, and Joshua Tree Coffee Co. Additionally, a new circular bar named Cactus to Clouds is expected.

Las Casuelas, founded by the Delgado family in 1958, is inspired by traditional recipes from Mazatlán, Mexico. For over 65 years, the business has been a community favorite for its hand-made sweet corn tamales, albóndigas soup, chile verde, and other dishes.
