Palm Springs Set to Implement Stricter Financial Oversight Amid Queerworks Investigation

The City of Palm Springs continues to investigate CEO of Queerworks Jacob Rostovsky for alleged 'misappropriation of funds' which were intended for the city's Universal Basic Income Pilot Program.

Records show the Palm Springs City Council approved payments to Queerworks, in which a majority of funds went towards staffing costs. But Council member Lisa Middleton says it was a whistleblower who informed her of this, which lead her to notify the city manager and finance managers.

The city is now working to implement stricter financial oversight measures to prevent similar problems in the future.

There have been no further updates to the investigation from the Riverside County District Attorney or Palm Springs Police Department.
