    Palm Springs, CA

Tonight, Democratic Congressional Challenger Will Rollins held a packed fundraiser at the Vibe community in Central Palm Springs and didn’t mince words when he stated he wants to debate Republican Incumbent Ken Calvert. So far Calvert, Rollins said has refused.

The 41st District of California which encompasses Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, and La Quinta is a hotly contested congressional district that Rollins believes he can win in November.

Although he lost to Calvert in his first go around in 2022, the latest poll by Conservative newspaper, the Washington Examiner, shows Rollins up 45% to his opponent Ken Calvert 44% .

Ken Calvert, a supporter of former President Trump and who has been in congress since 1993, voted against codifying a federal right to abortion in contrast to Rollins who supports federal protection of abortion.

Rollins hopes voter turnout, including Democrats, Independents and disaffected Republicans boosted by his recent endorsement of the Palm Springs Police Officer’s Association, who endorsed Calvert last time will help to propel him to victory.

He wrote, “As a prosecutor, I worked closely with local law enforcement, and that is exactly why I have so much admiration and respect for the enormous sacrifice they make to protect our communities.” …“Law enforcement puts their lives on the line every day, and they deserve a Member of Congress who always has their back. I promise that I will be that member.”

The endorsement is the latest sign of momentum swinging behind Rollins’ campaign. In April, the International Law Enforcement Officers Association backed Rollins’ bid for the 41st Congressional District. And in the 2022 cycle, Rollins received other key support from the law enforcement community when former Riverside County Sheriff Stan Sniff endorsed Rollins’ candidacy, along with the National Security Leaders for America .
