    Suspect In Custody In Palm Springs For Abusing And Killing A Dog

    Palm Springs, CA

    At 9:54 AM on August 12, 2024, the Palm Springs Police department received a report of a male subject seen dragging and kicking a German Shepherd at the intersection of E. Baristo Rd. and S. Sunrise Way.

    Officers responded to the scene and confirmed that the male had assaulted the dog, causing severe injuries that required immediate medical attention. Despite efforts to save the German Shepherd, it sadly succumbed to its injuries while being transported to the animal hospital.

    The suspect, Hyapa Strepe, 39, a local resident, was arrested and is now facing charges of animal cruelty.

    The Palm Springs Police stated they take these incidents very seriously and remain committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all animals in the community.
