Introducing Three New Disney Cotino Home Designs, Opening to the Public

Cotino, a StoryLiving Community by Disney is starting to take shape in Rancho Mirage with the release of three new model homes developed by Shea Homes. Future model home designs will be released from two other chosen Cotino developers, Woodbridge Pacific Group and Davidson Communities.

Of the three model home designs released, two of the homes, Moderne and Atelier II are specifically designed for the 55+ age group. The third home design Melodia , is for all ages.

Models are now open to those attending a sales appointment and all three models will be open to the general public starting November. All three models start in the upper one millions and it is currently expected that early residents will start moving into Cotino, the first quarter of 2025

Here is a rundown of all three models now opening to the public.

Moderne – Cottage Collection

Cotino Moderne Home Design Exterior By Shea Homes

The Moderne model home is a 2 Bedroom, 2 1/2 Bath, 2 story home with approximately 2821 square feet. Built by Shea Homes with interior design by TRIO, it reflects the natural beauty of the desert.

With a welcoming front porch entry, this house marries warm, neutral tones and textures with a modern floorplan and amenities. The two-story home features two bedrooms, two full bathrooms and two half bathrooms with plenty of flexible space on both levels. On the ground floor, a large kitchen connects to a dining area and great room leading to a covered outdoor living space. On the second floor, the loft area opens to an expansive, front-facing covered deck.

The interior design, which drew inspiration from the Adventureland area at Disneyland, features earthy tones and textures with accents that echo the rugged landscapes of exotic, adventurous locales.

Cotino Moderne Home Design_Kids Room

Part of the Cotino Agrarian Collection, the Moderne’s exterior home design was inspired by the agricultural origins of the Coachella Valley in the early 20th century. Featuring natural materials like stone and timber paired with more contemporary shapes, homes in this collection will have a charming yet modern style. The Cotino Home Design Collections were inspired by Disney Imagineers and are being built by third-party homebuilders.

The Moderne model home is located within Longtable Park, an area of the Cotino community designed specifically for residents 55+. The Moderne floorplan is exclusive to Longtable Park.

Atelier II – Cottage Collection

The Atelier II model home, built by Shea Homes with interior design by TRIO, is a 2 bedroom / 2 1/2 bath 1 storie home with approximately 2275 square feet. It pays homage to the region’s mid-century modern architectural legacy.

This house blends neutral finishes with a curated collection of furniture and artwork to create a harmonious fusion of classic mid-century modern aesthetics with bold and colorful charm. Featuring a private front courtyard, the one-story, open floorplan was designed for flexibility and includes two bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. A generous covered outdoor living area wraps around one corner of the home providing access from the primary bedroom and the open great room.

The interior design, which drew inspiration from the classic Disneyland poster artwork from the 1960s and the whimsical style of local artist Shag, incorporates vivid colors to infuse the space with a sense of playful sophistication.

Part of the Cotino Oasis Collection, the Atelier II’s exterior home design is inspired by the region’s iconic mid-century modern architecture. With glass and metal details to marry the vintage aesthetic with today’s form and function, homes in the Cotino Oasis Collection will represent a renaissance of the mid-century modern style. The Cotino Home Design Collections were inspired by Disney Imagineers and are being built by third-party homebuilders.

Melodia – Grand Collection

The interior design, which drew inspiration from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “One Hundred and One Dalmatians,” blends neutral tones with striking black accents to create a captivating space that blends sophistication with a touch of whimsy.

Part of the Cotino Aspiron Collection, the Melodia’s exterior home design reflects the Valley’s artistic momentum. Featuring modern materials like glass and concrete with pops of playful color, homes within the Cotino Aspiron Collection will exude warmth and style with artistic flair. The Cotino Home Design Collections were inspired by Disney Imagineers and are being built by third-party homebuilders.

Town Center Future Opening

In addition to the new home models that are now being released, it is expected that the Town Center at Cotino, will be open to the public in 2026. The highly anticipated Town Center will include retail, dining, and a public beach with a daily ticket fee that offers paddleboarding and kayaking.
