Classified staff in Lawrence school district could see 99-cent raises
The Lawrence school district has offered classified staff members 99-cent raises to their hourly wages as part of a tentative contract agreement. PAL-CWA has been advocating for a living wage for the custodians, paraeducators, food workers and other staff in the district it represents. Ross Allison-Natale, president of Communications Workers of America Local 6400, previously said the union has primarily focused on achieving a living wage for the 2024-25 year.

Shawnee commission OKs plan for small subdivision in western part of city
The Shawnee Planning Commission has given the green light for a new roughly 11-acre single-family subdivision on Mize Road in the far western reaches of the city.
