One person flown to hospital following crash in Palmer

PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) – One person is in the hospital following a serious crash on Route 32 in Palmer Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Palmer Fire Rescue, just after 3 p.m., crews were called to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32, leading to a complex extrication and resulting in one individual being brought to the hospital via Life Flight.

Several local fire departments, including Three Rivers, Monson, and Ware, assisted in the accident. First responders worked to extricate one party from the vehicle, whose identity has not been disclosed.

Ware Street was temporarily closed to facilitate the rescue operation and the airlift, causing some traffic delays in the area.

The occupant was airlifted to the hospital for immediate medical attention. The extent of their injuries has not been released at this time.
