The Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Texas Capital Area Chapter is a nonprofit educational and professional development association serving America’s Army and supporting a strong national defense. AUSA provides a voice for the Army, supports the Soldier, and honors those who have served in order to advance the security of the nation. The AUSA – Texas Capital Area Chapter is open to all Army ranks and all components — including Active, National Guard, Army Reserve — Government civilians, retirees, Wounded Warriors, Veterans, concerned citizens and family members. Indeed our AUSA chapter welcomes anyone who subscribes to the philosophy of a strong national defense with special concern for the US Army. An investigation is underway after a man was found dead Thursday following a fire at a mobile home, according to the La Joya Police Department. City firefighters responded to the blaze Thursday near the corner of East. 11th St. and Tabasco Road at around 1:28 p.m. Police were called after firefighters found the body of 74-year-old Elias Rodriguez in the home, according to La Joya police Lt.
