Texas Department of Public Safety to Dedicate Boat in Honor of Fallen Trooper
AMARILLO, Texas - The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will hold a boat dedication ceremony on Friday, July 26, to honor Trooper Matthew Dewayne Myrick, who died in a vehicle crash while responding to a call in Deaf Smith County in 2006.The ceremony will take place at the Texas Panhandle War Memorial, located at 4111 Georgia St., Amarillo, Texas, at 10:00 a.m. The event will celebrate Trooper Myrick's life and his service and sacrifice for the citizens of Texas, according to a press release from the DPS Northwest Texas Region.Trooper Myrick's name will be dedicated to a Tactical Marine Unit, ensuring his legacy continues to be remembered. The DPS encourages the public to join in honoring their fallen brother.
