Lawsuit reveals new details in deadly Edinburg crash that killed four
The family of four people killed in a July 2023 collision is suing the now-paralyzed Edinburg man accused of driving drunk and causing the crash. Sheng Li Jiang, who was 46 at the time, is accused of killing Edinburg residents Luz Aurora Casados, 50, Maria Guadalupe Zavala Casados, 68, and Ellieana Santoy, 2, of San Juan, on Monday, July 24, 2023.

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros volleyball team is transitioning to the Southland Conference (SLC), set to compete against both familiar and new opponents. Fees Texas inmates pay to make calls will be slashed under new federal regulations approved this month. High rates that had averaged 23 cents a minute for Texas jail inmates have long been a target of prisoners, their families, and advocates.The Federal Communications Commission voted last Thursday to approve regulations, to take effect next year, that cap the price of inmate phone and video calls at prices as low as 5 cents per minute.The prices and caps differ throughout the state, and depend on prison size as well as differences between state and local rules. A Texas man went missing more than 10 years ago from the same Bahamas yoga retreat where a Chicago woman vanished last month, a spokesperson for the retreat confirmed. Wesley Bell of Houston was last seen alive while attending a yoga retreat on Paradise Island in Nassau on Jan. 25, 2013, according to a missing persons flyer released by police at the time. He was attending a retreat at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat Bahamas, the same site from where Taylor Casey, 42, went missing last month, according to the retreat’s spokesperson, Jonathan Goldbloom.
