NECAC seeks school supply donations
PIKE COUNTY, Mo. — The North East Community Action Corporation is seeking donations of school supplies and cash to purchase additional items for Pike County students. “As the school year approaches, we want to help teachers not have to worry about providing enough supplies,” said NECAC Pike County Service Coordinator Penny Dixon. “This will lift some of the burden put onto our educators when children need items throughout the year. We don’t want them to be forced to use their own money to buy supplies.”

Man cut two neighbors with machete in South City, police say
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A 33-year-old man cut two of his neighbors with a machete in South City on Sunday night, police say. The incident happened around 11:45 p.m. in the 3900 block of Chippewa in the Tower Grove South neighborhood. Police say the 33-year-old man went to the home of a 42-year-old and 19-year-old man and caused a disturbance. During the incident, he swung a machete and cut both victims.
Deer collision on Highway 59 leads to fatal motorcycle crash
A fatal motorcycle accident occurred on Highway 59, three miles north of Lanagan, Missouri, at approximately 3:05 a.m. on July 22, 2024. William D. Linclon, a 49-year-old man from Lanagan, Missouri, was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson Superglide southbound on Highway 59 when his motorcycle struck a deer in the roadway. This collision caused Linclon to travel off the left side of the roadway, hitting a guardrail. As a result, Linclon was ejected from the motorcycle and fell down an embankment.
