DROUGHT UPDATE: Eastern North Carolina is now classified as abnormally dry, due to lack of rainfall
As we begin the summer season, it is no surprise how dry it has been this month. Since the start of June, most areas are behind at least 2.00″-4.00″ inches of rain and more of the dry conditions are likely to continue as we wrap up this month. The last time we were this behind was back in April when we saw anywhere from 1.00″-2.00″ in the spring season.
