PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. ( WMBB ) – A Panama City Beach restaurant is damaged after a fire broke out early Wednesday morning.

It happened shortly after 4 a.m., at the Hook’d Pier Bar and Grill off Front Beach Rd., right next to the city pier.

Hook’d Pier Bar and Grill posted on Facebook stating it was an electrical fire in their roof. They do plan to make repairs and call on fellow beach restaurants to help out their employees during the rebuild.

Firefighters said the restaurant was the only building damaged.

Despite the fire, Panama City Beach Parks and Recreation staff say both the pier and deck will be open to visitors to watch the fireworks display.
