PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. ( WMBB ) — Arnold alum, Josh Chandler was one of eighteen athletes named ‘All-American’ by the United Soccer Coaches.

“Definitely surprising, but overall just feels great,” Chandler said.

Chandler helped lead the Arnold boys soccer team to the Class 5A State Title this season.

The senior goalkeeper was the defensive leader for the Marlins during their dominant season. In his senior season, Chandler played in 23 games. In the playoffs, he did not allow a single goal in regular time.

He sealed the win in the final four and state title game by saving game-winning penalty kicks.

“I’m always looking back at the film during the state game and the semifinal,” Chandler said. “It just puts a smile on my face that we completed being state champs.”

After the season, the Arnold boys soccer team was named the 2024 MaxPreps National Champions.

Chandler spent the summer competing with the semi-professional soccer team, The Florida Roots. He plans on playing soccer in college, but it is not official yet.
