    Fire officials rescue animals from structure fire in Panama City Beach

    PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Panama City Beach Fire Rescue responded to a fire on Dogwood Street Thursday morning.

    PCBFR crews said they worked to locate and remove the resident’s dogs. Another dog and a rabbit were rescued by crews and released to their owners. One dog was reportedly in critical condition, officials wrote.

    Fire officials said first aid was administered and members of the fire inspection division transported the animal to a local vet.

    Naval Support Activity Panama City, Bay County Florida Emergency Services, and NSA Panama City Fire & Emergency Services also assisted at the scene.

    Officials said the home endured major damage, and the incident is currently being investigated.
