BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – The new FSU Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare facility in Panama City Beach opened to the public on Monday.

The St. Joe company partnered with Tallahassee Memorial and FSU in 2022 to begin planning the campus. This first facility will see patients Monday through Friday for primary and urgent care services.

Tallahassee Memorial’s Chief Health Operations Officer Andrew Starr said they’re here because they determined there was a need.

Bay High kicked off ‘100 years of graduates’ celebration

“When you think about Bay County, particularly the western part here in Panama City Beach, there really wasn’t a true local healthcare destination. And we think we’ll attract locals. But I think we’ll also bring in a new population of workers that want to come here and practice programs and provide.”

The cardiology ambulatory and the surgery centers should be open next month. Orthopedics, gynecology, and dermatology services should be available in 6-months.
