PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. ( WMBB ) – A good way to shop locally while beating the heat and the rain. It’s the first-ever indoor air-conditioned flea market in Panama City Beach.

Within the Lindsey Furniture store, a whole area was sectioned off solely for vendors. There were over 50 vendors.

Folks were selling a variety of items including food, clothes, knick-knacks, and other items.

Those shopping were impressed with the selection and happy to be out of the sun.

Sunday was day two of the market.

“Oh, it’s really cool. It’s nice that there’s food vendors and clothes, and he likes the antiques and that kind of stuff. So we saw some stuff for the baby, too, so that’s cool. This is really great. It’s always great to support local, so it’s nice to see all the local vendors,” resident Kate Huffman said.

The Huffmans say they saw the ad on Facebook that said it was going to be air-conditioned and jumped at the opportunity.

Vendors were also happy that they didn’t have to bake in the heat while selling their goods. One local business owner who sells cotton candy was especially happy about that fact.

“Absolutely perfect. Cotton candy does much better in air conditioning and rain or shine. And it’s just it seems to be a nicer environment for everyone. Besides supporting local, you know, the people that are running this really are a joy to work with. Everyone is helping everyone. And it’s just a really good, family-friendly atmosphere to bring people out to enjoy,” vendor Kimberly Vanderveen said.

If you missed this weekend’s market there will be plenty more opportunities for you to shop till you drop.

The next one will be taking place on August 10th and 11th.
