PANAMA CITY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – A free community picnic that will surely keep your 4th of July weekend going strong is coming to Rosenwald High School on Saturday, July 6th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Everything from the food to the drinks to the activities and even the admission costs nothing.

Throughout the afternoon, kids can take home some gifts including sunglasses, a Nintendo Switch, and more.

The main purpose behind hosting the picnic according to event organizers is to bring members of the Panama City community closer to one another.

“I think we’ve lost sight of what it means to be there for each other,” said event organizer Skip Bondur. “In our culture today, we get caught up in, ‘What do I need today for me?’ Our hope is that maybe we just encourage people to look past themselves and see the people around them that maybe just need a meal.”

You do not need to live in Panama City to attend Saturday’s picnic.

Organizers say they are planning and looking forward to next year’s community picnic.
