PANAMA CITY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Cars lined Kraft Ave. and 3rd Ct. in Panama City, some waiting for as long as three hours, to receive free food provided by Goshen Evangelistic Ministries on Monday morning.

This free food is provided by Feeding the Gulf Coast and the distribution is hosted at least once a month at the church.

Each month the meals vary, but on Monday steak, chicken, canned goods, and seafood were just some of the items that were given out.

For church staff, seeing the public’s reaction and appreciation for what the ministry is doing for them is why the distribution is hosted every month.

“With or without the validation a smile is absolutely amazing when you’re going through this line and you see people that are crying who say, ‘I had no food,’” said Goshen Evangelistic Ministries Pastor Phyllis Grier. “It is fulfilling to know that the sacrifices that you’ve made have filled a hungry stomach more than anything.”

The next food distribution at the church will be on Monday, August 12th.

The distributions are available to both Panama City and non-Panama City residents.

To volunteer with the church you can email them at goshen.em@gmail.com or call them at 850-257-5380.
