Bozeman baseball is in the Class 1A state title game after run-ruling Trenton 10-0 in the state semifinals Wednesday morning in Fort Myers.

The Bucks reach their second championship game in three years and will face the winner of Lafayette and Jay at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Bozeman totaled 13 hits and broke the game open in the fourth inning. The Bucks scored four runs with everyone seeming to get on base. The team scored another four runs in the fifth inning to reach the limit to end the game early.

Bozeman (27-3) is the No. 1-ranked team in Class 1A and has played in the state semifinals six times, the most from any team in the classification.

"We played really well today and Trey (Power) was really good on the mound," coach Jeff Patton said. " We scored a couple of runs early and you could really sense the air got out of Trenton's balloon when we got it going there in the fourth."

Senior ace Trey Power was stout yet again, only allowing two runs all game and not having to do much as the Bucks bats were roaring in the later innings. Patton said the Bucks' energy is high with the mindset of "whatever it takes to get to Thursday."

"I do not sense any nerves and it is more like the team is on a mission they want to accomplish and they know that whoever we see next is not better than us," Patton said.
