Never forget: Lynn Haven to host its annual 9/11 ceremony at Sharon Sheffield Park

LYNN HAVEN — Almost 23 years removed from the tragic events of 9/11, Lynn Haven will host its annual remembrance ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 11, beginning at 9 a.m. at Sharon Sheffield Park, 901 Ohio Ave.

According to a press release, the ceremony will include remarks from city officials and guest speakers followed by a First Responder’s Remembrance Drive conducted by the Lynn Haven Fire and Police Department.

There will be a limited amount of chairs on the lawn of the field, so the community is encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs.

“We invite the community to join us for the 9/11 ceremony as we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.” Vickie Gainer, city manager is quoted as saying in the release. “This gathering is a time to remember our fallen heroes and show our collective commitment to never forget.”
