Mosley's potent offense overwhelmed Arnold on Friday night, as the Dolphins claimed the Bay County championship on senior night with a decisive 56-13 rout of the Marlins.

Mosley scored on six straight offensive possessions, led by quarterback Sammy Freitas who connected for touchdowns with receivers Jaden Sapp, Fletcher Taylor and Jack Massey. Massey would shine in all three phases of the game adding a 54-yard punt return for a touchdown and an interception on the defensive side.

Running back Lo'Kavion Jackson scored on the ground along with Sammy Chisolm, who rushed for two scores. The Dolphins' defense lived in the Arnold backfield led by linebacker Will Arboleda and edge rusher Raedyn Bruens, who combined for six sacks.

With plenty of jawing back and forth between the teams throughout the week and once the lights flipped on, Mosley head coach Tommy Joe Whiddon is glad his team came out and took care of business.

"We believed it was going to go this way going into tonight and we heard all the 'trap game' throughout the week, which definitely motivated us in our preparation throughout the week," Whiddon said. " We executed in all phases with a great team effort and are now focused on going over to Gulf Breeze next week for a district championship on a short week."

Both teams met for the post-game handshake, which appeared to get a little chippy between players and coaches, resulting in the need for police intervention.

Mosley (8-0) travels to Gulf Breeze (2-6) on Oct. 24. Arnold (6-3) hosts Rickards (4-3) on Oct. 25.

    Bozeman 20, Rutherford 19

A second-half comeback drove Bozeman past Rutherford in a local battle that came down to the wire on Friday night. The Rams were in charge for the majority of the game, holding a 19-13 lead late in the second half. A blocked field goal helped Bozeman stay in the game, but a game-changing catch by Lakota Johnson placed the Bucks in scoring position.

Bozeman quarterback Hayden Gay found receiver Kolton McClelland for the game-winning touchdown, followed by the Bucks' defense intercepting Rams' quarterback Jaleel Reed to seal Bozeman's second straight victory.

"We were in field goal range and had the chance to put the game away and be up by nine, but we got the field goal blocked," Rutherford head coach Albert Floyd said. "They did everything they needed to do to pull the game out and in the end someone had to lose and unfortunately it was us."

Bozeman (4-4) hosts North Bay Haven (0-8) on Oct. 25. Rutherford (2-7) hosts Bay (3-5) on Oct. 25.

    Walton 41, Bay 31

Walton ran rampant on Bay High as a 20-point third quarter proved too much to overcome. Senior running back Dominic Goodwin led the charge with three rushing touchdowns. The Tornadoes fought back, cutting Walton's lead to 34-31 early in the fourth, but a Goodwin touchdown run and an ensuing interception sealed the game for the Braves.

Bay (3-5) travels to Rutherford (2-7) on Oct. 25.

    Thursday game

North Bay Haven 0, Chiles 42

The Buccaneers were shut out for the sixth time this season and fall to (0-7) on the year. North Bay Haven has been outscored 322-22 and has a big rivalry game next week.

North Bay Haven (0-8) at Bozeman (4-4) on Oct. 25.
