‘Equity, equality and parity': Illinois' road to reparations explained
In early 2022, Illinois became the second of three U.S. states to establish a commission to provide reparations for African American descendants of slavery. Through subsequent board meetings, public hearings and oversight from Gov. J.B. Pritzker, the goals of the group, titled Illinois' African Descent-Citizens Reparations Commission (ADCRC), are starting to take shape.
Ramsey Man Facing Multiple Felony Counts In Fayette County Court
A Ramsey man is facing multiple felony counts in Fayette County Court. 33 year old Justin D. Blackburn is charged with Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer, which is a Class 2 Felony. Information on the charge says Blackburn is alleged to have pushed back on the Police Officer, causing a laceration to the left elbow. Blackburn is also facing a charge of Domestic Battery-Prior, which is a Class 4 Felony. Information says that Blackburn allegedly threw a can of beer at a family or household member, striking them in the head. Blackburn is also charged with Criminal Trespass to Residence-Person Present, which is a Class 4 Felony. Information states that Blackburn entered a residence in Ramsey at a time when he is alleged to have known one or more persons were present in the residence.

It started off with one of the greatest football seasons you will ever see a player put together, contributing 1,949 yards passing and 1,244 yards rushing during the season and averaging nearly 4 Touchdowns per game. He was first team all conference on both offense and defense as he continued to be outstanding defensively, as well. Injuries robbed Andrew of most of his Senior basketball season. But, he was health and ready to go for baseball and put together a slash line of .398/.468/.657 with 2 Homers and 29 RBI, 29 runs scored and 15 stolen bases along with playing a flawless CF for the Vandals. Andrew goes down as having one of the greatest high school football seasons you will ever see and being a top level 3 sport athlete.
