OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Showers and thunderstorms moving through central Nebraska were fading away early Sunday morning, but sending a batch of cloud cover into eastern Nebraska. The clouds will move into the metro mid-morning, and will likely stick around through early afternoon. There is a very slight chance for a spotty shower or storm as the batch of clouds moves in, but most areas will likely stay dry. The clouds will help to keep the more intense heat at bay for another day, with temperatures warming into the mid-80s by Noon, and afternoon highs around 90 degrees.

Nebraska to host five-star athlete next week
The top athlete in the class of 2025 will visit Nebraska next week. Michael Terry III is a five-star recruit for Alamo Heights High School out of San Antonio, Texas. As a junior, he earned district MVP honors by rushing for 995 yards and 20 touchdowns and receiving 564 yards and ten touchdowns. He is scheduled to visit the Lincoln campus on Tuesday and Wednesday. Terry recently spoke with Phillip Dukes of the On3 network about his last visit to Nebraska and the impression it left on him. It’s like a big family over there. When I went on my OV (official visit), they welcomed me with open arms. Just the culture around them and my family had fun out there. I got to spend time with the players and really got to see how it is out there. Terry is being recruited as a wide receiver, running back, and defensive back. He is ranked as the No. 1 athlete in the 2025 recruiting class. LINCOLN — Nebraska renters would get some financial relief in the form of an income tax credit under a pair of proposals to be considered by the Legislature. State Sens. Terrell McKinney of North Omaha and Eliot Bostar of Lincoln each introduced a bill Thursday seeking to compensate renters who otherwise would not automatically reap any direct benefit from property tax reforms being pushed by Gov. Jim Pillen.
