The University of Nebraska Foundation has announced a $1 million pledge from Michael B. Jones to create an endowed chair in art at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). Part of UNO’s $3 billion fundraising campaign, the gift will establish the Michael Bruce Jones, MD, Chair in the School of the Arts. (Elkhorn, NE) - It was another masterful pitching performance from Cohen Nelson on Saturday afternoon to lead the charge for Grand Island Home Federal to pick up a first-round state tournament win over Omaha Westside by a final score of 2-0. Nelson would go 5 1/3 innings on the mound on 105 pitches and would ring up 14 Westside batters. GI would get an out from relief pitcher Ethan Coslor in the 6th and Gabe Ruiz would come in and close out the game in the bottom of the seventh.
