Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska 2024 is Jaelyn Himmelberg, Miss Rodeo Nebraska 2025 crowned tonight
North Platte, Ne - Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska 2024 is Jaelyn Himmelberg. Himmelberg was crowned at Mid Plains Community College on Wednesday afternoon. Jaelyn is a graduate of Blue Hill High School and will be attending Doane University in the fall where she will be a member of the dance team. She will be pursuing a major in biology with an emphasis on a Pre-Physician Assistant path. She plans to practice as a Physician Assistant in rural Nebraska in the future. Miss Rodeo Nebraska 2025 will be crowned during the first night of the Buffalo Bill Rodeo Wednesday night.

Varner of Hemingford awarded prestigious scholarship
Hemingford graduate Drew Varner has been awarded the prestigious Hagan Scholarship, a national award that will fund his education up to $15,000 per year for four years. The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide, need-based merit scholarship designed to help recipients achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free, regardless of nationality. Applicants must graduate from a U.S. high school, including public, private, charter, magnet, and STEM schools, and have an adjusted gross household income not exceeding $100,000 for 2023 Federal Income Tax purposes. Big Blue Bay in Alliance to hold swim meet

Tax Commissioner Grants Specific Relief Due to Tornadoes
(LINCOLN, NEB.) — As a result of the recent tornadoes that have impacted the State, relief will be granted to taxpayers who were directly impacted and unable to timely file income tax returns and make payments. The Tax Commissioner for the State of Nebraska, James R. Kamm, has granted a waiver of penalties and interest for late income tax returns or payments of taxes, which are due with the Nebraska Department of Revenue (DOR) on or after April 25, 2024, through September 3, 2024, so long as the returns are filed and payments are made by September 3, 2024.
