Later on Sunday, the Prince of Wales and his oldest son, Prince George , 10, surprised fans when they were spotted in the stands at Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany, to watch Spain and England compete in the UEFA European Football Championship. The heir to the British throne and his son were photographed shaking hands with other dignitaries near them in the stands and applauding as they cheered for the English team.
It did not appear that the royal couple’s youngest son, 6-year-old Prince Louis , tagged along for either sporting event.
Prince George of Wales, Prince William, Prince of Wales and President of The FA, and Aleksander Ceferin, President of UEFA, look on prior to the UEFA EURO 2024 final match between Spain and England at Olympiastadion on July 14, 2024, in Berlin, Germany.
The father of three shared an excited message for England’s soccer players on X , formerly Twitter, after the team advanced to the 2024 UEFA Euro Final late last week. “We are so proud of you all @england, just one last push to finish the job! Go out there and show the world what you’re made of,” the prince said, signing the message with a “W” to indicate that it had come directly from him.
Once the father-son duo had arrived in Berlin, Kensington Palace shared a video showing the two walking along a red carpet as they were led into the stadium for the game. They later posed for a photo with Spain’s King Felipe VI, which the palace shared on X . “May the best team win 🏴🤝🇪🇸,” the palace’s photo caption said.
Unfortunately for the British royals, Spain won the game 2-1 against England.
