You might not like the action of vacuuming, but boy is it necessary. And the only way to make it more enjoyable is to get a vacuum that you like and that does the job well. So, if you’re in the market for a new one, Aldi is dropping a corded stick vacuum this coming Wednesday that is not only made for households with pets but is also similar to Shark versions that are up to 10 times the price.
From July 31 to August 6, Aldi is selling the Ambiano Corded Pet Stick Vacuum for $29.99 in the Aldi Finds section of their American stores (while supplies last, of course). While Aldi’s website doesn’t have anything about the vacuum’s specs, functions or other information, it is pretty easy to figure some of that out. Design-wise, this stick vacuum looks a lot like other stick vacuums out there. It has a small motor part, which contains the dust bin and is where the separate heads and nozzles connect. From there it has a long, thin tube that connects to a standard vacuum head at the bottom, to create the “stick” look.
Other images on this listing also show that it comes with at least three other nozzles that turn it into a handheld vacuum cleaner. One is a shorter stick with a blunt end for corners and edges. Another attachment is a short vacuum head for couches and stairs (or other places where you don’t want the long stick but a shorter handheld one). And the third is another short tube with a brush end for other crevices.
The site doesn’t say if it comes in other colors or what its suction is like. But based on the Ambiano Cordless Cyclonic Stick Vacuum that we reported on in February, this corded vacuum has a good track record in terms of the company making them. And while the attached cord doesn’t allow you to take this to as many places in your house in one trip, it does keep the price down, which is always good. Plus it’s always ready to go and doesn’t need to charge.
As we mentioned before, Aldi’s corded pet stick vacuum is similar to a couple of Shark vacuums out there. First, Shark’s Stratos UltraLight Corded Stick Vacuum , which is $299 at Best Buy, has a similar design. The motor part with the dust bin is a bit bigger than Aldi’s, but it comes with very similar attachments. For one, it has the long tube stick option. And then it has some nozzles and attachments that make it a handheld vacuum cleaner. Unlike Aldi’s, though, this Shark vacuum has DuoClean PowerFins HairPro, a self-cleaning brush roll and odor neutralizer. It also comes with LED headlights and nozzles to attach to the stick so that you can get to higher-up places.
Another similar version by Shark is the Shark Rocket Pet Pro Corded Stick Vacuum Cleaner with Self-Cleaning Brushroll, ZS350 , which is currently on sale for $169 at Walmart. Like Aldi’s vacuum, this one specifically has “Pet” in the title and is seemingly made for pet hair and dander. It has a similar design to the other two vacuum cleaners mentioned above along with LED headlights. But instead of a handful of attachments, it seems like this one just has two modes: the regular stick vacuum and a handheld stick vacuum.
If you’re in a crunch and need a new vacuum, and you don’t need a fancy one that charges or has a wall mount, Aldi’s $30 Ambiano Corded Pet Stick Vacuum is worth checking out. While it’s most likely nowhere near the quality of a $300 vacuum, the similar design to Shark’s vacuums and the price tag are more than convincing enough.
