If you’re an athlete, you know the importance of a good slide sandal to throw on after games or practice. And if you love a good house shoe or indoor/outdoor slippers, you also know how great these slides are. They’re usually made with a foam or durable material that’s easy to clean and offers a comfortable shoe without any bells or whistles. For Aldi’s upcoming Aldi Finds this Wednesday, they’re dropping cloud slide sandals just like that and they’re bound to sell out (not to mention they look like other slides out there that are several times the price).
From Aug. 8 to Aug. 13, Aldi is selling Crane Ladies Sustainable Platform Slides for $8.99 in the Aldi Finds section of your local store (while supplies last, of course). Aldi dropped premium slides back in early June, and these are a trendier version. As its name suggests, they have a thicker bottom, making them platforms (although they don’t look ridiculously tall). There’s texture on the sides of the outsole and it connects to the top strap of the slides, which are the same material. The strap is thick and has an indent that gives it a fun look.
According to Aldi’s website, these slides are sustainable because they’re made with biobased material. As Stahl reported, “bio-based materials” are made with “renewable biomass sources” which can include things like plants, animals or other “natural” materials. They come in Ladies sizes 6 to 10 and are available in the colors tan, navy and olive (which are all very light, almost pastel).
As we mentioned above, this style of slide sandals is pretty popular and there are lots of other versions on the market. DSW sells the Mix No. 6 Syma Slide Sandal for $19.99 (though it was originally $49). They have a similar textured outsole and platform look, the main difference is that the Syma Slide Sandal has a thinner strap that has no indent.
Another sandal that’s similar to Aldi’s platform slides is by Cushionaire. Their Women's Feather Cloud Recovery Slide Sandals with +Comfort are $24.99 on Amazon and come in so many different colors. They have the same platform bottom as the above slides, but they’re closer to the DWS pair because of the thinner strap. It has over 36k reviews and nearly 5 stars, though, so they’re definitely a favorite.
And lastly, Amazon also sells Skechers Women's Slide Sandals for $45. They’re a little shorter than the others, and the platform looks a bit different. It has a smooth strap that is thin like the other mentioned above (but different from Aldi’s). These are made with EVA material, which is easy to clean.
So if you need some new house shoes or want a new pair of slide sandals that are easy to clean and quickly get on and off, Aldi’s Crane Ladies Sustainable Platform Slides might be perfect for you.
