Once you realize there are more types of pants out there other than jeans and sweatpants, your whole world opens up. Whether you’re looking for something for a nicer day out or something to still keep you comfy, utility pants can be a great option (depending on the style and material). But for the most part, they can offer you a more polished look than sweatpants and even be nice enough to wear to work or on a date. Old Navy’s highly-rated pull-on utility pants fit that bill and they’re similar to a Patagonia style that’s twice the price.
We’re talking about Old Navy’s High-Waisted Pulla Utility Pants , which are currently on sale for $28 but were $39 (making them 30% off). They have a relaxed fit through the hip and thigh and taper at the ankles. It’s high-waisted, meaning that it sits at your belly button and has an elastic waist (with a fake fly because they’re pull-on pants). They have “utility pockets” in the front and back patch pockets, plus a hammer loop for that full “utility” look.
The pants come in several different colors including Sly Fox (orange-brown), Wishbone (off-white), Yellow, Wild Currant (muted purple), Cinder Smoke (gray), A Stone’s Throw (light khaki), Stone Wall (olive green) and Black. Two other colors—Falconry (brown) and Woodrose (rose-pink)—are 50% off, costing $19.97. These pants have a soft-washed twill fabric that’s made with 98% cotton and 2% spandex.
Old Navy’s Pulla Utility Pants have over 4k ratings and reviews and almost 4.5 stars, making them a well-liked item on Old Navy’s site. One person wrote that these were "unexpectedly comfortable” and “easy to pull on, not too baggy, [a] perfect length." And another shopper wrote that these were a “winner,” stating that they “love these super cute and easy to wear with anything pants."
"Great fit and quality pant!” another reviewer said. "Excellent quality, style and fit for this pear-shaped lady! No gap at the waist! Perfect for casual or dressed-up occasions. Would highly recommend."
As we mentioned before, these Old Navy pants are similar to a style by a higher-end brand, Patagonia. Their Women's Funhoggers Pants , which are $68.99 (originally $99), have a similar pull-on utility pant look, though they have a slightly different style of leg (they’re wide leg and shorter). But they also offer wearers a relaxed fit and an elastic waistband. They have a button pocket in the back and are made with a “lightweight woven” material made from 100% cotton.
So if you’re looking for a well-made utility pant that’s versatile and comfortable, Old Navy’s High-Waisted Pulla Utility Pants might be the ones for you.
