Elle King revealed some of the details of her rocky relationship with her father, Rob Schneider , while speaking about her family during a recent podcast appearance.

The “Ex’s & Oh’s” singer spoke with Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo , for an episode of the Dumb Blonde podcast due out next week. The podcaster shared a preview montage featuring clips from their conversation on TikTok on Saturday, August 10. As Bunnie Xo explained in her TikTok caption, King “doesnt hold back!”

“She addresses everything,” Bunnie Xo added.

The montage began with the podcast host admitting that Schneider was “one of my childhood crushes.” The revelation appeared to shock King, who put her hands on either side of her head as she exclaimed, “Oh, my gosh!”

The four-time Grammy-nominated artist then made a candid confession about her relationship with the former Saturday Night Live cast member.

“I go for, like, four or five years without talking to my dad,” she explained.

King, 35, went on to describe getting “lost in the shuffle” when she spent summers during childhood on movie sets, explaining that she and her father didn’t connect much until she was "much, much older.”

“My dad forgot about every single birthday,” she said in another clip included in the montage. "I spent my 18th birthday in a summer school, and they brought me cupcakes, and I came home, and my dad forgot my birthday.”

By the end of the montage, Bunnie Xo shared that King’s confessions were “killing” the “fantasy” she had of the Home Alone 2: Lost in New York actor. “It’s done, it’s over with,” she said, adding, “I’m team Elle all day.”

King’s conversation with Bunnie Xo wasn’t the first time she had addressed her tough relationship with her father. While appearing on the Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe podcast earlier his week, the musician said she believed she had dodged the “nepo baby” label in part because she and her father “weren’t super close” when her music career launched, according to People .
