Once you have the essentials in your home—a couch, dining table, bed, TV, you know, the goods—adding little accents, fun chairs or pretty tables can be one of the most exciting things while decorating. An accent bench near your entryway or at the end of a bed can really stand out and add to a room’s decor. But of course, furniture is expensive, so grabbing any deal you can get is crucial to staying within your budget. This coming week’s Aldi Finds has a gorgeous woven bench that’ll do the trick and costs less than $50. Plus it looks like benches from AllModern and Target that are nearly seven times the price.
From Aug. 14 to Aug. 20, Aldi will be selling the SOHL Furniture Woven Accent Bench for $39.99. It has a boho feel to it, with the beige woven design of the seat and the warm wood making up the legs. Aldi’s site doesn’t give much information about what it’s made out of, but the woven part looks like rattan or some type of synthetic material that looks like straw or rope.
They also don’t state what kind of wood is used, but it’s a warm mahogany color with bars across all four legs for stability. But what Aldi does share is that the bench is “easy to assemble” and measures 31.89 inches long by 15.94 inches wide x 14.96 inches tall. It also holds up to 220 lbs.
As we mentioned before, this bench from Aldi resembles a couple of other styles from higher-end brands. One bench is AllModern’s Piper Bench , which is currently $259 (but was originally $449). It has a very similar woven seat that’s almost the same color. It also has a wooden frame and legs but in a darker wood (and it’s made from acacia wood, to be exact). It measures 18 inches tall, 36 inches wide and 17 inches deep, making it a bit bigger, but it only holds up to 200 lbs.
The other bench that Aldi’s woven accent bench compares to is Target’s South Shore Balka Wood Bench in the color beige/natural. It has acacia wood legs as well and a woven seat made out of polypropylene material. The woven seat is a bit darker than Aldi’s and is more of a rope with a looser woven design. But the wood is similar and it measures 47.25 inches long, 15.75 inches deep and 18 inches tall making it even bigger. It’s currently $279 and can support up to 500 lbs.
As we always note, a piece of $40 Aldi furniture isn’t going to quite compare in quality to something that’s nearly $300, but it is safe to say that if you want something sturdy and aesthetically pleasing, Aldi’s SOHL Furniture Woven Accent Bench is something definitely worth checking out.
