Kelly Ripa Makes Bold Declaration About Disney

Kelly Ripa has led an extremely successful career in television, and according to her, she owes a lot of this success to Disney.

The 53-year-old talked about her longtime relationship with the company during 2024's D23 Disney Legends Awards ceremony, where she was honored as an official Disney Legend.

Speaking with ET , Ripa declared that Disney has "given me everything."

"Everything stems from Disney," she went on. "My employment, of course, but my husband, my children, everything!"

Ripa kickstarted her career when she landed the role of Hayley Vaughan on All My Children , a soap opera on ABC, a channel owned by Disney. During her years-long time on the show, Ripa's now-husband, Mark Consuelos , was hired to play her love interest, and soon enough, the two actors became romantically involved.

The couple eloped within a year of dating, and have now been married for around 28 years, sharing three kids together.

During her appearance at the Disney Legends Awards, Ripa also talked a bit about feeling imposter syndrome while being honored alongside people like Jamie Lee Curtis and other big names.

"I never thought of myself as somebody who had imposter syndrome until I stood up there and you're looking at Harrison Ford and Angela Bassett and just everyone," she told the publication. "It was beyond my wildest dreams."

While accepting the honor on stage, Ripa talked about how her relationship with Consuelos started while filming All My Children , joking, "We met on the set of All My Children 30 years ago, and from there, we made our own three children right backstage in the Disney labs."

Other honorees at the awards ceremony were James Cameron , Miley Cyrus , Frank Oz , John Williams and James L. Brooks , who have all greatly contributed to the company's success.
